Sorry for the lapse in communication, but let me explain what's been happening this spring at Rucus Studio. Last week a team from Better Homes and Gardens flew here to shoot a magazine layout for their upcoming Halloween Tricks & Treats edition. They graciously asked me to be their featured artist earlier this year, so I've been extremely busy creating some new pieces and decorating the house for a Halloween party in April. It was a stretch finding the right fall accents to use this time of year, but friends helped out and it all seemed to come together. Now we must be patient till the magazine hits newsstands in early September. An added bonus for me is this photo shoot gave me the motivation to work through a variety of ideas for possible show pieces, such as the new image on my home page.
The Halloween Moon above is a revisited character for me and one I did especially for this article. I hope to be able to offer more like him later in the year.
Now that the dust has settled, I'm back to work, creating fun pieces for the next The Best We Can Do web update happening June 4th.
