Christmas in July (and August)

Seems crazy to be working on Santas and other Christmas pieces in the middle of summer, but what I'm creating now is for The Golden Glow of Christmas Past convention happening in Sacramento in just two weeks.

I'll be taking a few one-of-kind dressed Santas, a variety of Belsnickles and some new Santa head lanterns recreated to look the antique pieces I have in my own collection.

This year my friends from The Best We Can Do, Paul Gordon, Nicol Sayre and Lori Ann Corelis will all be at the convention. We'll be sharing a room on Tuesday and Wednesday evening and selling to convention attendees.

I believe they are still taking last minute registrations for anyone interested in joining the club and attending the convention.

Here is a sneak peek at a couple of the pieces I'll be offering.

I've got it covered!

Today I found the new autumn issue of Art Doll Quarterly in my mailbox, and I'm so excited to share that one of my pieces made the cover!

The peg-legged pirate cat is a character I've had in mind for some time and was finally able to make it happen. My hope is to have a few variations of this fierce feline and other new Halloween pieces at Halloween & Vine and Ghoultide Gathering later in the fall.

The autumn issue will be on newsstands at the end of July. You'll find a feature article about me with samples of past works and my postcard set. I'm honored to be in such good company with the talented artists in the issue.

It was a pleasure working with the people at Stampington & Company. I'm amazed at how many quality publications they produce. Great resources for showcasing artisans and crafters.

Thanks Art Doll Quarterly for including me!
